Seasoned Downtown Entrepreneur Continues to Branch Out

Main Street Macon celebrated the grand openings of Ginger Stir-Fry & Grill and Kashmir Lounge this week. The grand opening for Ginger was held on Wednesday, March 6, while the grand opening for Kashmir Lounge was held on held on Thursday, March 7 - both at 496 Second Street.

Cesare Mammerella has been in business in downtown Macon for the past twelve years. “Downtown Macon has a look and feel you can’t find anywhere else. There is an energy here,” says Mammerella. “And now, with the Dannenberg project and all the other lofts being developed the possibilities are almost limitless,” he continues.

The concepts at Ginger and Kashmir are unique in Downtown. “Ginger is a Mongolian bar-b-cue style restaurant. “Choose your meat and veggies for stir-fry and add rice and sauces for something completely unique,” says Mammerella, “There is nothing like this here. And Kashmir offers a chic, upscale lounge atmosphere where young professionals can enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and fusion dim sum in a modern atmosphere. I felt like both of these filled niches in Downtown.”

Ginger and Kashmir are located in the newly renovated Grant’s Pastry building at the corner of Second Street and Poplar Street. “Bringing a new life to this vital corner of Downtown is one of the things we love about Cesare. He sees an opportunity and potential and grasps on. Success is never far behind him,” says Mechel McKinley, Main Street Manager.

Ginger Stir-Fry and Grill is open Monday – Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. Kashmir Lounge is open Thursday – Saturday from 5:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
